Christmas in beads

Before we dive into the new year.... here is a picture of the Christmas scene I made with hama beads. I made the gingerbread house a few years ago, but the little characters were made on Christmas eve.

I don't craft much at the moment, I'm playing with "Fantasy Life" 3DS that Father Chistmas brought me, it's quite addictive.

Happy zombie Halloween

Here is something typical : Holiday week, loads of stuff planned, and paff. Fever, and bacteriological warfare in my throat. And I never have fever. I spent all yesterday in bed shivering, and I'm a total zombie, and of course my doctor is on holidays too ! Oh well...

Here is a picture of the Halloween stuff I made this year...

There's the tree, I made with fuse beads. And knitted pumpkins, and a ghost.

Voilà un truc typique : c'est les vacances, on prévoit plein de choses, et paf ! fièvre et guerre bactériologique au fond de ma gorge, ce qui me laisse au lit toute la journée et totalement zombie.

Mais voici quand même les petites choses que j'ai faites pour Halloween : un arbre en perles Hama, et des citrouilles tricotées, ainsi qu'un petit fantome

First Hama beads projects

I don't know if you used these Hama or fusable beads as a child, or with your children. I was aware of it because there is a whole community on the web of crafty geeks who make pixellated pictures with them. As a child, I think they haven't been invented yet, otherwise I'm sure I would have had some.

I bought one of the SES Hello Kitty kits, because then you have an Hello Kitty special peg board with the square one. I also bought some more beads, Hama ones this time.

So I started with the Hello Kitty, and I have to say SES beads don't react as well as Hama beads. I ironed quite a long time (about 20 sec), but there were still some weak spots, and I ended ironing the other side too. When I tried the little cup cake with Hama beads this morning, it was all fused in 5 sec !!!

I took time to make my day 3 TIAS tatting though....

Connaissez-vous les perles Hama? Peut être en avez-vous eu quand vous étiez petits, ou que vos enfants en ont? Moi je suis passée à travers apparemment, ça ne devait pas avoir été inventé, ou je suis sure que j'en aurais eu. C'est le style de truc qu'on m'offrait !


J'ai découvert que les geeks bricoleurs adorent faire des trucs pixellisés avec ces perles. Du coup, j'ai voulu essayer. J'ai acheté un kit SES Hello Kitty (car il y a une plaque spéciale pour faire une kitty en plus de la plaque carrée), et des perles Hama en plus.


Déjà, je ne peux que conseiller de rester avec Hama : mon premier test, la Hello Kitty, a du être repassée des deux côtés, car il y avait toujours des morceaux fragiles ! Alors que les trucs faits avec les perles Hama sont fusionnés en 5 secondes....


J'ai aussi pris le temps de faire mon TIAS du jour....
