Tea cosy birthday

I've knitted this a while ago for my mom's birthday. I made her a tea cosy last year, but the embroidery is already worn off and the thing is stained by tea. So she needed a new one. Problem is... it doesn't fit the teapot. I used the same needles, same base pattern, thinking that if the first cover fitted, the second should be ok, but noooo... There's a sort of malediction there. You see the cover on another of her teapots.

J'ai tricoté ce couvre-théière il y a un bout de temps, pour l'anniv de ma maman, qui était cette semaine. L'année dernière, je lui en avais fait une, mais elle est déjà usée, à force de faire des taches de thé et de le laver. Le problème est que le nouveau est trop petit !!! Pourtant j'ai utilisé la même base, et les mêmes aiguilles, c'est pour dire ! Il y a une sorte de malédiction. Et donc ce couvre-théière couvre.... une auter théière.
