Hard times again...

You know I moved recently to Belgium for a new job when I was made redundant in England... Well, after 3 weeks at the new job, the section was closed, and everybody was made redundant, except me and 2 others.

So yesterday was reliving a nightmare, more because I was spectator to the drama than actually living it though...

But for me it will mean a 45 min commute, and changing for an office based job I don't know the specifics yet. So I'm back to uncertainties for tomorrows and general thinkings about life and all the problems in the world...

But in the meantime, I finally put "dragon of hope" on my laptop bag...

Ginny, i usually stitch those patterns in 2 days, so it was a reasonnable estimation, especially since I was on holidays with time on my hands !!!

Comme vous le savez, je viens de déménager en Belgique après avoir été licenciée économique en Angleterre. Et hier, ils ont fermé toute la section à mon nouveau job, et ils ont tous été licenciés, sauf 3 personnes (dont moi). Donc j'ai du revivre la situation très pénible du Printemps dernier, même si je ne suis que spectatrice pour le moment.

Et pour moi cela veut dire que je vais devoir travailler à 45min d'ici, et faire quelque chose d'autre, mais je ne sais pas encore quoi, c'est comme un retour à zero quoi !!!

En attendant, me revoilà entrain de repenser aux incertitudes et aux horreurs du monde... c'est pas bon !!!

Bon, voici quand même la photo de mon sac à dos d'ordi portable avec le "dragon of hope" dessus.

Et il faudra attendre pour voir ce que je brode, nananah !!!

A finished dragon

This is probably my last ost in a while. I'm definatly not motivated to stitch, especially the Hallween fairy (difficult colours and fabric...), so I finished my little dragon over here.

Life is a bit hectic, I move in 2 days to no-internet land (hopefully I will be connected on the 18th), andI start work on Monday.

I know I might have been a bit confusing but I'm going to Belgium, around Charleroi (if anybody knows LNS in the area... give me a sign !!!)

So, back to the dragon... I really like that little guy, so I think I will put it on my laptop bag (a very traditional case, I took the cheapest or so).

Ceci est certainement mon dernier message avant un bout de temps. Dans deux jours je déménage en Belgique (Charleroi, si vous connaissez des boutiques dans le coin...) où je n'aurai pas d'internet avant au moins le 18. Et je commence le boulot lundi. J'appréhande toujours un peu de conduire ici, et plein de choses sont déstabilisantes, mis c'est la vie !

Donc voici mon petit dragon enfin fini. Je l'adore, et je pense le mettre sur ma sacoche de portable, qui est si basique (j'ai quasiment pris la moins chère...)

Sinon, Daniela m'a donné un "I love your blog" award, mais comme je n'ai pas le temps de choisir 7 personnes dans les centaines que je lis, considerez-vous choisies si vous voulez continuer la chaine.

Webcam test

New laptop means... loads of fiddling about with it, and no stitching... you know how it is...

These pictures are a bit small because I used my webcam to take them at an angle... but they aren't blurry, so... ;)

Anyway, last week I worked on the dragon of Hope, and it's progressing nicely. I love the colours...

And yesterday I finished this beaded snowflake which ended up very fiddly for me... I think I didn't use the proper beads from one or the other shuttle, and ended up with barely enough beads to finish. And it was a good thing I put extra beads on the threads (you need to put the right number of beads on the thread of the shuttles before starting the work, as you can't add anymore afterwards. It requires proper counting of the beads, but it means you can do bead work on the go without fear of loosing them !).

Anyway, I will have to block it seriously, I'm aware it's a bit "3D"...

Now is time to start the Halloween fairy (if you don't know what I'm talking about, look at the picture in the sidebar on the left)

Hier j'ai eu mon nouvel ordi portable, et vous savez ce que ca veut dire... pas de broderie, et beaucoup de bricolage sur l'ordi... D'ailleurs les photos ici sont prises avec ma webcam, c'est pour ça qu'elles sont un peu petites.

Tout d'abord il y a le "Dragon of Hope" qui avance petit à petit...j'adore ses couleurs en tout cas.

Puis nous avons un flocon en frivolité et perles qui m'a donné du fil à retordre. Je me suis certainement trompée dans le nombre de perles à enfiler au depart sur les deux navettes, car malgré l'extra que j'ai ajouté, je suis tombée à court. Mais bon, c'est pas si grave.

(Il faut enfiler les perles sur le fil des navettes avant de commencer, donc il faut le bon nombre ou on ne peut pas les ajouter après. C'est une limitation, mais cela permet de faire des trucs en perles n'importe où sans crainte de les perdre !)

Sinon ce flocon est un peu "3D", il va falloir serieusement le bloquer avant utilisation...

Et maintenant il est temps de commencer l'Halloween fairy que vous pouvez voir dans la barre de gauche...

Lutine, je n'ai pas encore déménagé... pour l'instant, je suis en vacances en France, mes affaires arriveront en Belgique samedi en 8... je sais, c'est très compliqué, ça fait planter les ordis, comme celui de Belgacom (pour avoir l'internet, telephone et tv), car être française, venir de l'Angleterre vers la Belgique, c'est loin d'êter simple !!! ;)

Suddently ... pictures ;)

After a long time of "what do I want to stitch ?", I took Cinderella for a little row of crosses, then I decided to stitch "Dragon of Hope, a freebie from Dragon Dreams I meant to stitch for a long time now.

I decided to use a purple fabric my friend Kim hand dyed herself, close to the colours of the stitching, but still quite different to see the stitches. Plus I love that colour of fabric...

For the moment it's a bit of a blob, but the Earth is already finished.

I also finished a big tatted snowflake. Well, bigger than the others, but the picture is still life size. I forgot to join a few times, so I had to add pieces of threads here and there... but who will know ?

And finally here is an inchy I made earlier this week, but I only put the back fabric and the eyelet yesterday. 4 leaves, a few crosses and 2 beads in the middle... And it's so small I was able to put a mobile thingy on it !!!! Incredible...

On Thursday, only a week before going away from England, I was in Waitrose, and what did I see? Altoid boxes ! I will have to stock up... But that means I will have to find tutorials to decorate them on Focus on Finishing...

Apres un certain temps de "que vais-je broder?" j'ai decide de broder "dragon of Hope", un freebie de Dragon Dreams. Ca fait un bout de temps que je voulais le broder, donc voila !

J'ai choisi une toile que mon amie Kim a teinte elle-meme, en mauve/bleu... Les couleurs sont proches mais assez eloignees de la couleur des fils pour faire un peu ton sur ton...

Pour l'instant, la terre est faite, et une partie du dragon... c'est sympa a faire !

J'ai aussi fini un grand flocon en frivolite (grand par rapport aux autres), et j'ai oublie de joindre une paire de fois, donc il y a des bouts de fils en plus, mais qui le remarquera?

Enfin, voici une photo d'un inchy que j'ai fait dans la semaine, mais je n'ai fait l'arriere et l'oeilleton qu'hier. C'est assez petit pour mettre un attache de portable...

Sinon, le comble, une semaine avant de quitter l'Angleterre, je decouvre des boites Altoids au supermarche de la vieille ville (ou je ne vais jamais). Je vais devoir faire provision !!!! Et aller voir s'il y a des tutos pour les decorer....
