Yes, one cat a day, and the design is finished ! Now I need to find the perfect frame to hang it on the kitchen wall...

I tried to take the Winter fairy again, but I'm more in a Spring mood, so I started the little mice with flowers. It's 3 designs, but I want to stitch them horizontally side by side and turn them into a cushion...

He oui, au rythme de un chat par jour, à peu près, voici que la broderie est finie. il me reste à trouver le cadre parfait pour l'accrocher dans la cuisine.

J'ai essayé de continuer la fée de l'hiver, mais je suis plutôt dans l'humeur du printemps, donc j'ai commencé 3 souris avec des fleurs. C'est normalement 3 designs différents, mais je vais les broder horizontalement à la suite, pour en faire un coussin.

Lavender's blue is finished !!!

It seems incredible, but yes, I have a stitching finish ! After a terrible Thursday, where I had such a sinus ache I could eat, sleep or anything, I was glad to be rid of it by the evening. And Friday my head felt to light, I did the house work, and lots of stitching.

My hand is ok for the moment, but I don't try anything too strainous...

Jeudi j'ai eu le pire mal de tête de ma vie, enfin, les sinus, et je ne pouvais plus même manger ou dormir, l'horreur ! Heureusement ça a stoppé dans la soirée, et on sent alors sa tête légère...

Hier donc j'étais pleine de courage pour le ménage et tout ça, et donc j'ai beaucoup brodé. J'étais motivée car je ne voulais pas commencer un nouvel ouvrage sans finir ce petit tableau, car j'ai envie de broder des animaux rigolos de Margaret Sherry. Et mon choix s'est arrêté sur ces chats dans des tasses à café, en honneur de DBF qui est fan de tasses (il en achète encore et encore) et de café.

Ma main va mieux, mais je n'ai pas trop poussé non plus, donc ceci explique cela :)

A feel of Spring - Easter Bunny finished !!!

First, let me introduce you to Egghead chick, my newest critter. I might make him some friends for Easter...

But I'm sure you would be more interested in the fact that I finally finished the Easter Bunny !!! Click here to see a big picture. It's finished, and yet... it's not really finished, as I didn't write any names at the top or anything. And of course, I want to turn it into an egg shape bag like in the magazine.

Yesterday was particular, because I finally received the 2 CrossStitch Collection magazines I ordered on December 3rd !!!! I know about the postal strikes, and the fact that the magazines visited Europe (especially Germany) before reaching me, so I was leaving them until beginning of February... But here they are ! And in them, there are the Autumn and the Winter fairies from Joan Elliott. I especiually love the winter fairy, so I will start it straight away (this is why the bunny is finished so quick !)

So the Winter fairy... I will use a fabric my friend Kim dyed for me a while ago, all in purple and blue, very like the one in the magazine. And it's 16 aida. I have most of the threads, I think that in the long list I only miss 4 colours max. And I have the beads. So I'm basically ready to go !!!

Tout d'abord, laissez-moi vous présenter mon dernier petit, Crane d'oeuf le poussin. Je pense lui faire des petits amis pour Paques.

Mais vous serez surement plus intéressés par le lapin de Paques, qui est enfin fini !!!! Cliquez ici pour le voir en plus grand. Enfin, pas vraiment fini, car je n'ai pas mis de nom au dessus, et je dois encore en faire un sac en forme d'oeuf comme dans le magazine.

Hier j'ai enfin reçu les deux magazines CrossStitch Collection que j'avais commandés le 3 décembre. Avec les grèves des postes, et le fait qu'ils aient fait le tour de l'Europe (surtout en Allemagne), je leur avais laissé jusque début février, donc voilà. Ils ont les fées de l'Automne et de l'hiver de Joan Elliott. J'aime particulièrement celle d'hiver.

Et donc c'est le projet que je commence dès aujourd'hui. Je vais broder sur la toile mauve/bleue que Kim m'a teinte il y a un bout de temps, en aida, et qui ressemble fort à la toile du magazine. J'ai quasiment tous les fils (il ne 'en manque que 4 je crois), j'ai les perles, donc tout est prêt !

Mama Christmas is the first happy dance of the year !

First, thank you all for your warm wishes. This year New Year's eve and day were pretty calm, and I realised a stitcher's dream : stitching on New Year's eve when I wasn't cooking or eating !

Somehow I became possessed with the stitching bug, and I spent most of the last two days stitching : the back stitch, in green, black and gold, and the beads.

So yesterday evening, at last, Mama Christmas was done ! and she's the first to get a "2010" sig !

Now I decided to work on the Easter bunny a little bit, as I'm in the mood for working on abandoned difficult projects...

Tout d'abord, merci pour vos bons voeux ! Cette année j'ai réalisé le rêve des brodeuses : broder durant le réveillon, et tout le jour de l'an ! C'était comme si j'étais possédée par l'esprit brodeur : il me fallait finir Mama Christmas. Pourtant, tout les points arrières en vert, noir et doré étaient longs. Les perles, ça n'a pris qu'une soirée.

Mais au final, Mama Christmas est la première toile estampillée "2010".

Maintenant, je vais travailler un peu sur le lapin de paques, car je suis toujours dans l'esprit de continuer des projets difficiles

Coming to America finished

I'm back to regular stitching... and that's how I finished this "Coming to America" from LHN. Click on the picture to see it bigger. Now I'm on "Lavender's blue", a new one from LHN, on the same fabric.

This week will be my move, and I still have so many things to do, it's frightning! I mean, after all the packing, there will be the unpacking, and the cleaning, etc... And I start an interim work the following week ! Well... Busy busy !!!!

Je suis de retour au point de croix, et j'ai donc fini "Coming to America " de LHN. J'ai enchainé avec "Lavender's blue", aussi de LHN, et sur la même toile.

Cette semaine aura lieu mon déménagement, et il y a donc beaucoup à faire, avant et après, vu qu'une fois emballé, il faudra tout ranger à nouveau, nettoyer, etc.... Et la semaine suivante, je commance un interim ! Busy Busy....

A finish? Where is the beginning?

I had this small Country Companions kit in my stash... I thought I would stitch it for my grandma's birthday in September. It was so nice to stitch I just kept going and... there it is !!!

Then I felt like remaining in the CC world, so I took an old kit I started ages ago of a mouse playing at the computer, "Computer Wiz". So it means a UFO back in the needles !!!!

Cette semaine j'ai brodé un petit kit Country Companions pour l'anniversaire de ma grand mère en Septembre. C'était tellement plaisant à broder que c'est déjà fini !

Et maintenant j'ai repris un vieil UFO, un auter kit Country Companions, la petite souris à l'ordi !

Tinkerbell finished !

I know, I didn't blog about the progress on this one, but I had to keep stitching and stitching, and stitching some more...

I used navy blue aida, and I had to convert from Anchor to DMC, and I wasn't really satisfied with the web conversion, so I improvised.

The wings are done with blending filament in the mix. She looks a lot better in real life because it's all very subtle...

Je sais, je n'ai pas montré de progrès sur ce projet, mais j'ai du broder, broder, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit finie !

Après la conversion Anchor à DMC que j'ai du rectifier, il y a aussi du blending filament sur les ailes pour faire briller.

Evidemment ça a l'air mieux en vrai, car tout est très subtile en fait.

Carole, merci pour les précisions sur les magazines, personne n'avait répondu, effectivement !!!

Mini mouse project finished !

As I was saying before... I started this little guy straight away ! Because of the threads from the kit, it's weirdly yellow and brown, but it's still ok... The picture doesn't show how contrasted the colours are.

I think now I will start the Tinkerbell, if I can find the right fabric...

Comme j'ai commencé ce kit tout de suite, il est déjà fini ! Les couleurs sont bizarres, ce sont celles données dans le kit, et encore, la photo ne montre pas tout le contraste !!!

Stitching fairy finished !!!

I wanted to finish it yesterday, and the mission is completed ! My grandma had problems and fainted a few times because of low pressure (she took the wrong meds together), so we did a bit of "granny sitting" yesterday afternoon and evening, and this time I took my stitching with me.

Of course grandma is all ok now, we had to stay just in case (she's living alone and has a tendancy to think she's much younger than she is...)

I really enjoyed stitching this project, and the big challenge was all that silver metallic stitching. But I used one thread of metallic and one of cotton, and it was ok. I have to say the new DMC metallics are a lot stronger than before... that's also an advantage.

I didn't do the french knots on the yellow of the clothes because I don't like polka dots, and the project is "busy" enough !

Because I don't feel like starting a new project, and I'm still in a Joan Elliott period, so I'm going to work on Mama Christmas next.

Je voulais finir la stitching fairy hier, et c'est mission accomplie ! Même si on a du faire du "grandmère sitting" hier, car elle a fait des malaises (chute de tension pour cause de mauvais mix de médicaments), mais j'avais pris de quoi broder. Elle va bien maintenant, il fallait juste la surveiller car elle a tendance à croire qu'elle a 20ans, et comme elle vit seule...

Donc, la stitching fairy... j'ai beaucoup aimé la broder, le plus difficile était tout l'argenté à faire, mais grâce aux nouveaux fils DMC plus solides et le fait de mélanger métallique et coton, ca a été.

Je n'ai ps fait les pois sur la robe car je n'aime pas ça,e t cela ferait trop chargé.

Et maintenant je reprends Mama Christmas car je n'ai pas envie de commencer quelque chose, et je suis toujours à fond dans Joan Elliott !

A stitched finish? impossible...

Well, the backstitching took only a little time, and so... Somebunny is finnished ! No idea what I will turn it into, but... I love it !!!

Yes, I finally finished it !!!

In the end I didn't put the beads and button in, so that it looks more rustic.

I started "Coming to America" this morning, with even the recommended fabric !!!! So we'll see how it will turn out...

It's the second day I drive with my new car, but it's not easy to be on the other side of the car !!! Plus I had the bad surprise on Monday evening to notice that the bonnet paint was badly damaged, but the garage will repaint next week. The sale guy hadn't noticed either !!!

Et oui, enfin les poupoules, et le reste du truc, évidemment. Je n'ai pas mis les perles ni le bouton pour garder l'aspect rustique (et parce que j'avais pas vu où c'était d'après la grille, car elle indique des couleurs de fil, et pas de symboles exprès pour les perles !!!)

J'ai commencé "Coming to America" ce matin, et cette fois-ci j'utilise même la toile recommendée !!!

Sinon, je suis dans mon deuxième jour de conduite de ma nouvelle voiture, et c'est pas si simple de s'adapter, mais surtout lundi soir j'ai eu la mauvaise surprise de remarquer que la peinture du capot était fort endomagée, mais heureusement le garage va le repeindre la semaine prochaine. le vendeur n'avait pas vu non plus !!!

Finally finished !!!

I'm still alive... barely. I still have digestive problems, even if I try to live normally. And I am quite tired...

So I sleep a lot, and I don't stitch !!! But I finally finished the needlework shop from Country Cottage Needleworks.

And on Monday I had my new charts, hourray ! I don't know which one to start... I have 3 charts from Little House Needleworks: "coming to America", "Embroidery Guild", and "Hen house". I don't know...

I had to pay 10 euros in customs, seriously, just for that I wouldn't order from there anymore. A shame, because the service was superb. So I can only recommend ABC Therapy ;)

Je suis toujours en vie... à peine. Disons que j'essaye de vivre normalement, mais mon système digestif ne m'aime pas. Donc ca traîne, et en plus je suis hyper fatiguée, et du coup...

This week end I worked on the little birds and finished the project just yesterday evening !

So this time it's a true week end finish...

So now I will focus on the bunny and on CCN's Needlework shop.

Finally finished !!!!

This was long and painful.... But I finally finished the backstitching and beads of the winter angel. Click on the picture to see the details....

So after days of grey lines, I might start "Needlework shop" from Country Cottage Needlework. I like the cartoonesque look the backstitching gives to the project, but it's so loooong !!!

The bads were fun, and I added a snowflake at the back to equilibrate. I obviously left out a lot of the snowflakes, the picture is already very blinky !

Enfin fini ! on peut dire que ça a été long et fastidieux de faire tant de points arrières en gris, même si j'aime le look cartoon que ça donne.

Les perles étaient fun à faire, j'ai fait un flocon à l'arrière pour équilibrer, mais je n'ai pas fait tous les flocons car ça blinque déjà pas mal comme ça !

Maintenant, je vais surement me mettre à "Needlework shop" de Country Cottage Needlework.

Christmas stocking for the ficus tree

DBF just told me "It's only a month before Christmas !!!!" and he bought a Christmas tree (artificial) to decorate it. In the same movement, I also decorated my ficus tree, but it's so happy in my place it's still very leafy and my ornaments seem hidden in the tree !!!

Anyway, I this week end I made this little Mill hill stocking. One more ornament... My next project will be a big Christmas one, as I don't really feel like making ornaments...

For those who knows it, it's Joan Elliott's angel (similar to the Renaissance Lady i already stitched). Blues, purples, metalics and beads....

I know i probably should stitch Cinderella, but I want to try and get in the Christmas mood, and it's a hard task at the moment...

Le petit kit du week end... une botte de Noel.

DBF a dit samedi "Il n'y a qu'un mois avant Noel !!!!" et avec frénésie a acheté un sapin (artificiel) et l'a décoré. En rentrant chez moi, j'ai décoré mon ficus (j'ai retrouvé mes oeuvres perdues dans le déménagement précédent), mais le ficus est tellement content chez moi qu'il est encore très feuillu, et les décos se cachent dans l'arbre.

Maintenant je vais m'attaquer à un grand projet de Noel, un ange de Joan Elliott (bleus, mauves, perles, métalliques...). Je pourrais continuer Cendrillon, mais j'ai besoin d'essayer de me motiver pour Noel, car je suis loin du compte...

Halloween Fairy finally finished !!!

it should have been a great day : after so many hours of intense stitching, with metallics (my least favourites) and beads (they are ok), the halloween Fairy is finally complete.

But life isn't so fun, as as DBF had to go home, and I've just been told that the sale of my Harlow house is no longer proceeding due to the buyer being unable to have a mortgage.

Add to that the fact that I have to go back to work after a few great days off, and the weather is not really great either...

So it's hard to join in the US joy (unless your candidate didn't win of course, they tend to forget about those in the news ;), and to concentrate on the fact that the week end will be there soon, and I will see DBF again.

On the stitching piece over here... Well, I have mixed feelings.

First, the colours. The very dark crosses flirt with the very light and shiny beads, and the overall piece is very very shiny. Too shiny? That's something no picture can really show....

Then of course, I finished it late. Do I frame it straight away and display it on the wall despite the fact that halloween is now long gone?

Here Halloween was quasi inexistent, no trick or treaters, and the shops are now ready for St Nicolas, so it's chocolate and toys all over... there is no patterns for that occasion?

Ca devrait être un grand jour: la fin, enfin, de l'Halloween fairy !!! Après des heures d'efforts, surtout à me battre avec les fils métalliques (les kreiniks ca va, mais j'ai un DMC dans le lot, et c'est moins glorieux), et à faire les perles... tada ! j'ai même réussi à défroisser la toile !

Mais voilà, hier non seulement DBF a du rentrer dans ses pénates après ses vacances (et quelques jours pour moi aussi), et la mauvaise nouvelle que ma maison d'Harlow ne se vend plus car l'acheteur n'a pas eu son emprunt. L'histoire de la crise...

Sinon, je suis un peu partagée à propos de l'Halloween Fairy. Ma première réaction est "qu'est ce que ça blinque !!!"

Il y a plus de métallique et de perles, très brillants et de couleurs vives, qui contrastent avec les couleurs très sombres du fil normal.... Cela ne ferait-il pas un peu... pacotille? Evidemment aucune photo ne semble retranscrire ceci.

Et puis comme j'ai fini franchement après Halloween, est-ce que je vais l'encadrer et la mettre au mur maintenant pour toute l'année, ou attendre?

Il faut dire qu'ici Halloween était quasi inexistantà part les décos dans les magasins, et que St Nicolas et ses chocolats et jouets sont à l'honneur déjà. Il n'y a pas de modèles pour cette fête?

Well, there isn't much else to say... Except that you see I didn't stitch the alphabeth, and I added my name and date in the same cross stitch style (instead of the usual backstitch sign).

I think I will turn it into a frame or a cushion, I'm not sure yet...

Now I will stitch an Halloween Mill Hill kit I had for a long time...

Stitching witchie finished !

This week end, my parents came with furniture to put my books and crafty stuff, so I unpacked my last boxes yesterday. The craftroom starts to be decent again...

Despite a headache, I finished the little witch, but the colours seem to blend with the background, so she doesn't leap out of the fabric. oh well...

I don't know what I will turn her into, but I'm back to stitching Autumn Harvest !

Ce week end, comme mes parents m'ont apporté des meubles pour mes livres et trucs de bricolage, j'ai pu vider mes derniers cartons, et ma mièce commence à ressembler à quelque chose...

J'ai fini la petite sorcière brodeuse, mais je trouve que les couleurs sont trop pales par rapport au fond... enfin...

Je ne sais pas ce que je vais faire de cette image, en attendant j'ai recommencé à broder Autumn Harvest...

Busy Needle finally finished !!!

He oui, enfin fini ce petit projet qui aurait du prendre 2 jours... Et qui a finalement pris 2 mois !!!

Au départ, je voulais mettre ça sur une pochette, mais j'en ai déjà tant...

En fait, c'est mon grand problème du moment. Pourquoi broder si c'est pour mettre la toile après dans un tiroir? Il y a déjà tant de projets dans ce tiroir...

Et évidemment, comme je ne me sens pas vraiment d'humeur à remettre les cadres brodés aux murs... ça n'arrange pas les choses, n'est-ce pas ? ;)

En attendant, nous pouvons louer les services de Twisted Thread. J'ai commandé des tickets pour Alexandra Palace jeudi dernier, et ils étaient dans la boite aux lettres en rentrant de week end...

Je vois déjà la question du jour: que vais-je faire maintenant? Surprise !!!

Busy needle is finally finished !!! This small project was supposed to be 2 days work tops, but it took 2 months !!!

At first I wanted to turn it into a pouch, but I already have a few... Actually, this is my main problem. Why stitch stuff to put in cupboards? My are already full. Plus i don't want to put my frames up on the walls...

Anyway, Twisted Thread is really quick, I already have my tickets for Alexandra Palace !!!

And what about what I will stitch next? Surprise...

A finished dragon

This is probably my last ost in a while. I'm definatly not motivated to stitch, especially the Hallween fairy (difficult colours and fabric...), so I finished my little dragon over here.

Life is a bit hectic, I move in 2 days to no-internet land (hopefully I will be connected on the 18th), andI start work on Monday.

I know I might have been a bit confusing but I'm going to Belgium, around Charleroi (if anybody knows LNS in the area... give me a sign !!!)

So, back to the dragon... I really like that little guy, so I think I will put it on my laptop bag (a very traditional case, I took the cheapest or so).

Ceci est certainement mon dernier message avant un bout de temps. Dans deux jours je déménage en Belgique (Charleroi, si vous connaissez des boutiques dans le coin...) où je n'aurai pas d'internet avant au moins le 18. Et je commence le boulot lundi. J'appréhande toujours un peu de conduire ici, et plein de choses sont déstabilisantes, mis c'est la vie !

Donc voici mon petit dragon enfin fini. Je l'adore, et je pense le mettre sur ma sacoche de portable, qui est si basique (j'ai quasiment pris la moins chère...)
