A little crochet experiment

This is really just for fun. One doily pattern, 3 thread and hook sizes. So you get:
- 6cm for the 0.75mm hook with size 30 thread
- 7cm for the 1mm hook and size 20 thread
- 10cm for the 2mm hook and size10 thread

I think I prefer the smaller sizes, they are more precise and cute ;)

Je me suis amusée à faire le même modèle de napperon, mais avec des crochets et fils différents. je préfère les plus petits, bien plus fins, le plus grand montre un travail assez grossier. Pourquoi ai-je fait ça? Pour avoir une idée du rendu pour les prochains napperons.... et leur taille.

Here's the Easter bunny !

About 20 years ago, I made my first crochet project: a teddy bear in filet crochet. My mom sew it on a cushion, and I had to make a second one to have a pair. And, believe it or not, these teddies are still alive and present in the family sofa. Of course, my mom unsewed and resewed them onto new cushions (she made the cushions with the same fabric as the curtains both times) but the crochet pieces are still good as new.

So when I saw that table runner in "Crochet World", I had to make the bunny. It's a sort of "back to the origins". I never intended to make the whole thing, because I knew I wouldn't have time to finish before Easter. I think I will frame it or something.

Il y a environ 20 ans, mon tout premier projet en crochet était un nounours en crochet filet. Ma maman l'a cousu sur un coussin, et j'ai du en faire un second pour avoir la paire. Avec le temps, maman a décousu et recousu les nounours sur d'autres coussins (afin qu'ils soient dans le même tissu que les rideaux), mais ils trônent toujours dans le canapé familial.


Donc, quand j'ai vu cette nappe dans "Crochet World", j'ai voulu faire au moins le lapin. Car le projet total est grand, et je n'aurais jamais eu le temps de finir pour Paques !!! Je crois que je vais l'encadrer ou quelque chose comme ça....

Dragon in the sky

While sorting stuff out, I found that tatted dragon I made ages ago. Well, I looked, and apparently I made it just before leaving on holidays in New York last August, so that would explain things a bit. Anyway, I decided to make a watercoloured card and stuck the dragon on it. I had to make a border around it, because I had to tape the paper down and so it was not neat at all.

For those who want to make the dragon, the pattern is here. Many people made it at the time I think.

Alors que je fouinais dans mes affaires, j'ai retrouvé ce dragon que j'avais fait en frivolité en aout dernier, juste avant de partir en vacances, à New York, ce qui explique un peu qu'il soit un peu abandonné. Du coup j'ai décidé de faire un peu d'aquarelle pour le transformer en carte. J'ai du refaire le bord, car le papier a gondolé et j'ai du le scotcher, ce qui fait que c'était moche.


Pour faire le dragon, vous trouverez l'explication ici. A l'époque, pratiquement tout le monde a fait ce dragon, et c'était d'ailleurs mon second.

Is it a doily or a tray?

Still in the spirit of Spring (what? am I repeating myself?) here is a little doily transformed into a tray. It's all cotton, fresh and sweet. You can put easter eggs in there and they won't roll off !!!

Toujours dans l'esprit fleurs au crochet et Printemps (quoi? je me répète?), voici un napperon où on peut mettre ses oeufs de Paques sans qu'ils ne roulent partout !!!

Back to crochet

You might have noticed that I rotate my crafts....I can just imagine how many of you are wanting for cross stitch to come back.... ;)
But for the moment, it's crochet. Last time I tried to crochet I got carpel tunnel syndrome pains. I thought that wasit for me, no more crochet, I felt quite devasted, and cursed to knitting forever. But then all those lovely flowers from the book "100 flowers to knit and crochet" called to me, and I had to try them. And, hourra, I crocheted all week end, and my handsare fine ! What happened? I'm now using a wrist comforter when using the computer. I guess that helps.

Then I made coasters and doilies, and I now started a flower garland. It's Spring !!!!

Vous avez sûrement remarqué que j'aime changer de techniques, et c'est au tour du crochet. Je sais que certains se demandent quand le point de croix reviendra.... ;)


Mais pour le moment, c'est le crochet. La dernière fois que j'avais essayé de crocheter, j'ai eu mal à la main et au poignet, et j'ai bien cru que je devrais dire adieu au crochet à tout jamais. Mais voilà que j'ai eu vraiment envie de faire des fleurs du livre "100 flowers to knit and crochet", et depuis, j'ai crocheté tout le week end sans problème ! Je crois que le fait d'utiliser un pose poignet pour faire de l'ordinateur a aidé pas mal.


Donc après les fleurs, j'ai aussi fait des sous verres, des petits napperons...

More bunnies !!!

Easter is coming closer and closer, so I made a candle holder with those bunnies. The pattern is here. I think I used a bit too much glue, but well... you can't win all the time. I left my tatted baskets with my mom. She will try to use sugar to get them harder.

Paques arrive à grand pas, du coup j'ai fait uun photophore lapins. Le modèle est ici. Malheureusement j'y suis allée trop fort avec la colle, donc le résultat n'est pas aussi bien que je ne le pensais, mais on ne peut pas gagner à tous les coups.
J'ai laissé mes petits paniers avec ma maman, qui va essayer de les durcir avec du sucre. On verra bien !!!

Eggs in baskets

Still in the spirit of Spring, I made 2 tatted baskets, in 2 different sizes. They look a bit squiggy because I didn't block them. I don't really know how to, so if you have any advice.... send them my way !!! Spring is turning into near summer over here... it's warm and nice, but until when?

Dans l'esprit du Printemps (qui tourne à l'été d'ailleurs en France), j'ai fait des petits paniers en frivolité pour mettre des oeufs de Paques. Ils sont un peu difformes car je n'ai pas amidonné, je ne sais pas trop comment faire en fait. Si vous avez des conseils, n'hésitez pas à me les envoyer !

First tatted card

I wanted to make something Springy and original for my mom who just had surgery on her hand, so I made this "Get well card". I painted the background with watercolours, and stuck some tatted elements on it. I hope to make some more, mostly with little flowers !

Je voulais quelque chose d'original et printanier pour donner à ma maman pour sa post opération de la main, alors j'ai fait un fond en aquarelle, et j'ai collé des éléments de frivolité par dessus. Ca rend bien, je vais surement recommencer surtout avec des petites fleurs...

More Easter tatting

 I tatted more bunnies, and eggs. They don't really look like eggs, I don't know why? Am I tatting too tight? Have you experienced that? The patterns are from the book "Tatted Easter Eggs".

Otherwise, I have sinusitis, thanks to Spring or something. So I'm in pain and barely able to think ;)

These days I spend a lot of time playing video games, Harvest Moon Grand bazaar (DS), Lego Harry Potter (PSP), Okamiden (DS) and now Lego Star Wars 3 (PSP) is coming out...

J'ai encore fait des lapins, et aussi des oeufs, qui ne ressemblent pas trop à des oeufs, je ne sais pas pourquoi? Les modèles viennent du livre "Tatted Easter Eggs".


Sinon, c'est le Printemps et paf, j'ai une sinusite. Et comme vous savez, c'est très douloureux et on ne sait plus trop réfléchir ;) 


En ce moment je joue beaucoup aux jeux videos. Cela a commencé avec "Harvest Moon Grand Baazaar" (NDS) il y a un moment (planter des choux et faire toute une tactique pour vendre le plus possible au marché du week end) puis je me suis mise à "Lego Harry Potter" (PSP) que j'ai fini (un miracle !) et "Okamiden" (DS). Et voilà que Lego Star Wars 3 arrive... hum...

Back to tatting

Has it really been 2 months since the last post? wow.... Now I understand why my grandma asked me about this blog again and again....

I only knitted a scarf and a shrug. It took quite a long time, and I finnished last week, and lost all knitting inspiration. What could I knit for Easter? Any ideas?

In the meantime, I started tatting again. easy small projects. I wanted to make a bookmark for my grandma (the other one), who is going for eye surgery tomorrow, and who loves to read. It seemed appropriate as she should see better after the operation, and so read more than ever !!!

And of course, in the spirit of the coming Spring.... I made a tiny rabbit. See the pattern here.

He be, ça fait vraiment 2 mois que je n'ai pas posté? Je comprend maintenant que ma grand mère me houspille parce qu'elle n'a rien de neuf sur le blog !!! Il faut dire qu'il ne manque qu'une écharpe et des manches tricotées. J'ai fini la semaine dernière, et maintenant je n'ai plus la moindre idée sur quoi tricoter. Il faudrait quelque chose pour Paques. Aucune idée?


Alors j'ai recommencé la frivolité. Et pour commencer, j'ai fait un marque page pour ma grand mère (l'autre), car elle se fait opérer de la cataracte demain, et comme elle aime lire, et lira encore plus après l'opération, cela semblait approprié.


Et puis dans l'esprit du printemps, j'ai fait un petit lapin, dont le schéma est ici.
