The hard life of fairies

Stop blogging regularly, and people leaves the boat... ;)

After all the depressing period, I now have 2 months "holiday", so... it means more stitching (I hope), and energy to blog !!!!

So here is a wip picture of the fairy. She's not progressing fast... too many colours ;)

In September I will first live at my grandma's. So it means packing the bare necessities. So you guess stitching and other crafts will have a big part in this !

So I was wondering if you would want to take part in a little game: if you had a big suitcase worth of crafting things to take for a few months, what would you take?

-------------------------

Loved your last angel finish! I haven't even gotten the magazine here in the U.S. to be able to get mine started yet :( Oh well, hopefully it will be here soon! I've been wanting to start Home of a Needleworker as well! Too odd that your doing the same. As for your question in your post, do I only get one big bag? lol. I have so many projects going on right now, but I could probably get away with one large suitcase. Maybe then I'd have a finish to show off myself!

All the Best,
Tracy

Heheh still reading, just not commenting because my brain has been deficient as far as finding things to say XD

Neat game... so what would I take...

- definitely my Thread Heaven, couldn't stitch without it
- my Moo hand cream as I hate stitching with dirty hands, but washing usually leaves them dry so need cream that isn't oily.
- my spring snap hoop that came as a freebie in one of the Cross Stitcher mags.
- my q-snaps
- my favourite stitching needles & stork scissors
- A selection of kits and designs I've been wanting to stitch, with the materials and threads needed to complete em :)

You didn't say how big the suitcase could be. Let's see. I'd probably go through all my cross stitch charts and pull out the ones I wanted to do the most, then pack them and all the supplies to do them (thread, scissors, hoops/scroll frames, pre-cut pieces of fabric 'cause I like the serge the edges, magnifier.) And in case I got tired of cross stitch, I would throw in a book of crocheted doilies along with thread and crochet hook. And maybe some smocking projects.

If my suitcase were big enough, I might throw in my sewing machine, but that'd be a stretch!

I would pack time consuming projects as that would be a good value per cubic centimeter, but as it takes me forever to stitch anything, I guess all my projects would fit.

bisous

She does have a nice face, your fairy/angel...

I'm one of those horribly organized people who keep all my current projects in a large plastic "bin" next to my stitching corner in the living room, so I would probably just put the lid on and go... ;) It contains all my WIPs, all necessary tools, patterns and fibers, and I can probably fit a few balls of yarn and my whole set of knitting needles as well. And then I'll throw in a couple of mags with interesting patterns and be ready to stitch! :)

Every tiny thing I could cram into a suitcase!

I'd pack my laptop so I could order whatever I needed online.

The angel is looking lovely, I have a similar pattern from Joan Elliot, a fairy godmother, right now I'm stitching a part of it as a pincushion.

Only a suitcase? Well, then I'll take the kits, floss, beads, needles, scissors and some finishing fabric. Well, maybe, some cross stitch fabrics as well as more finishing fabrics and I will need a couple of patterns (printed and magazine). I would take some yarn and my crochet hooks. That is if the suitcase was big enough. Otherwise I'll stick with the kits...

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Teabags; CD player; audio books; magnifying glass; needles, pins, tape measure, scissors, unpicker; plasters in case of accidents; everything I need to stitch Celtic Spring and Mermaid of the Pearls, plus some smaller designs for light relief; and a 6B pencil to mark where I'm up to on the charts.

I hope your life starts getting better from now on. You've had a rough year, what with that nasty throat infection and the redundency.

I'm afraid I'd have to pack two suitcases! But if I only could spare one...I'd pack my WIP's and a few charts with the needed fabric and threads.
